Requirements
Telecom Foundation is seeking an experienced professional for the position of IT Instructor/Teacher, responsible for delivering high-quality computer science and IT education to students from primary to higher secondary levels (Grade 3 to HSSC-II). The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computer science concepts, excellent command over programming languages (including Scratch, Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript), and the capability to introduce students to the foundational concepts of Artificial Intelligence (AI), in line with modern global K–12 curriculum trends (e.g., Google’s AI curriculum, Code.org’s AI modules, and UNESCO’s AI literacy frameworks). The instructor/teacher will play a key role in fostering students’ digital literacy, programming logic, computational thinking, and responsible technology use.
Your main responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Prepare and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that include Scratch programming, Python, web development (HTML/CSS), and other introductory coding languages.
Teach a blend of block-based (Scratch, Blockly) and text-based programming languages, adapted for students at different grade levels.
Introduce students to digital literacy, online safety, internet research skills, data security basics, and ethical use of technology.
Use multimedia resources and digital tools (e.g., basic simulations, gamified learning, visual coding platforms) to enrich learning experiences.
Encourage students to experiment with basic AI models (e.g., image classifiers, chatbots) in a safe, guided environment.
Collaborate with other teachers to integrate technology across subjects and support STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, Math) initiatives.
Stay updated with emerging technologies, EdTech tools, and best practices in IT education.
Maintain a minimum of 80% academic achievement across all internal and external examinations.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of the IT curriculum aligned with SSC/HSSC (relevant) boards and global digital learning standards.
Design dynamic lesson plans that cater to a wide range of learners and emphasize practical, hands-on activities.
Encourage students to participate in coding challenges, digital exhibitions, and national/international competitions.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and tech-enabled learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, innovate, and think critically.
Conduct formative and summative assessments, analyze student performance, and offer constructive feedback for improvement.
Support the school's mission of creating socially aware, digitally responsible, and future-ready citizens.
Assist the school with digital recordkeeping, managing student learning platforms, and supporting school tech initiatives when needed.
Ensure regular maintenance and proper use of the IT lab, including software and hardware resources.
Maintain discipline and classroom control while promoting responsible tech use and digital ethics.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (e.g., BS-CS, BS-IT, BCS).
Experience: Minimum one (01) year of practical experience in coding/software development/project-based IT work, along with the training and teaching of coding as well.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Scratch programming (block-based learning).
Familiarity with programming languages like Scratch, Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, or similar.
Command over digital tools, multimedia platforms, and EdTech solutions.
Active participation in staff training, workshops, and IT-related school development initiatives.
Regularly update teaching methods in line with latest technology trends and curriculum changes.
Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners and age groups.
Passionate about promoting digital skills, ethical technology use, and innovation in the classroom.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and other relevant platforms.
